Using Fixamgo

Clean up a messy phonebook

Merge duplicates, repair broken numbers and add missing country codes, approving every change.

Nothing is changed without you seeing it first. Fixamgo reads your contacts, proposes fixes, and waits: you accept or skip each one, and only then does anything move.

On your phone

In the Fixamgo app

  1. Open Fixamgo and go to the Contacts tab.
  2. Allow access to your contacts when asked. They are read from the phone directly, so there is no file to export.
  3. Tap Scan. Fixamgo tells you what it found before changing anything: duplicates, broken numbers, entries with no name.
  4. Go through the suggestions. Each merge shows both entries side by side; accept or skip each one.
  5. Tap Apply. A backup of your originals is saved first, inside the app, under Settings then Restore from a backup.
In a browser

In a browser

  1. On your phone, open the Contacts app, tap the menu, then Settings.
  2. Find Export, or Import/Export contacts, then Export to .vcf file. Save it somewhere you can find it; Downloads is fine.
  3. On the computer, open app.fixamgo.com/contacts and drop that .vcf file in.
  4. Pick the country most of your contacts are from. This is how Fixamgo reads numbers saved without a country code.
  5. Wait for the scan, then go through the suggestions as above.
  6. Download the clean file, then import it back through the same Contacts menu on your phone.
