Sending, receiving and withdrawing with MTN MoMo and Orange Money.

The two menus

Both open a menu on your screen: send money, withdraw, pay a bill, buy credit, check your balance. You move through it by replying with a number. It needs no data and works on any handset.

Before you send

  1. Check the number digit by digit, out loud. A transfer to the wrong number is very hard to reverse.
  2. Read the confirmation screen before entering your PIN. It shows the name of the person who will receive it.
  3. If the name is not who you expect, cancel. Do not assume it is a nickname.
  4. Keep the confirmation message until the other person says the money arrived.
