Scan documents
Photograph paper and get a squared-up, readable document instead of a crooked picture. Save it as a PDF or as images.
A photograph of a page is not a scan. The edges are crooked, your hand casts a shadow, and nobody can search the text. The Scanner fixes the first two and, where the server supports it, reads the words so the document can be searched.
On your phone
In the Fixamgo app
- Open Fixamgo and go to the Scan tab.
- Tap Open the scanner. Your phone's own document scanner opens, which already finds the page edges as you aim.
- Photograph each page. Tap again for the next one; there is no limit worth worrying about.
- Back in Fixamgo, pick a page style. Each thumbnail is your real first page with that style applied, not an impression of it.
- Choose whether to make the text searchable, then save.
In a browser
In a browser
- Open app.fixamgo.com/scanner.
- Choose Use the camera, or Add photos for pictures you have already taken.
- Hold the phone or the page flat, not at an angle. Automatic capture fires when the image is steady and sharp.
- Check each page in the strip. Remove any that came out badly, and drag to reorder.
- Pick a look, decide about searchable text, then save.
Choosing the format
- PDF is the right answer for anything you are sending to an office, a bank or a form: one file, pages in order, and searchable if you asked for that.
- Images give you one picture per page. Useful when something only accepts photographs, or when you want to send a single page to somebody on WhatsApp.
- You choose at the end, not at the start, so you can change your mind after seeing the pages.
