When the phone says storage is full
What to clear, in the order that frees the most for the least loss.
On your phone
In order
- Settings, Storage. Look at what is actually taking the room before deleting anything.
- Clear the cache of the biggest apps: Settings, Apps, pick the app, Storage, Clear cache. This loses nothing you care about.
- WhatsApp is usually the largest. Settings, Storage and data, Manage storage. It lists the biggest files and anything forwarded many times.
- Back up your photos, then remove the local copies. Google Photos does this; so does any drive you already use.
- Uninstall what you have not opened in a year. Settings, Apps, sorted by last used.
- Use Fixamgo Cleaner for the things saved more than once.
